Privacy
Signal is a small browser game by bitPOD. This page says what information is involved when you play it. The short version: the game itself collects nothing about you, and the only third party is the advertising that pays for the hosting.
What the game stores
On your device, in the browser's local storage: your high-score table, the initials you last typed, your chosen level and whether you've muted the sound. Clearing your browser's site data removes them. There are no accounts and no sign-in.
The world table
When a score makes your table you're asked for three initials. If you enter them, the initials, the score, the level and the time are sent to the world table and shown to everyone who opens the scores. That is the only information the game ever sends, and it's yours to decide: three letters need not be your name. The table is kept in Google Cloud Firestore in Europe, and rows can't be edited or removed by players once sent. If you want one taken down, write to the address below with the initials and score.
Hosting
The site is served by Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like any web server it processes your IP address and the pages you request in order to deliver them, and it keeps short-term technical logs for security and reliability. Google's handling of that data is described in the Firebase privacy documentation.
Advertising
Signal shows one advertisement, below the game, served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads and measure them. In the UK and the European Economic Area you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising is shown, and you can decline or change your choice at any time from that same prompt. Without consent you may still see non-personalised ads.
How Google uses data from sites that show its ads is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage ad personalisation for your Google account at adssettings.google.com.
What we don't do
- No analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no social buttons.
- No collection of names, email addresses or anything else you type. The only thing to type is three initials, and only if you choose to.
- No selling or sharing of data, because there is none to share.
Children
The game is suitable for everyone and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, children included.
